Ice maker isn’t working properly.
Trouble shooting tips:
1. Check the bail wire: make sure the bail wire, or as some people call it “ the arm” above the ice tray is in the down position. If it is up, it shuts off the ice maker.
2. Inspect the water supply line: Look behind and under the refrigerator to make sure the water supply line isn’t kinked, and the water is getting through.
3. Thaw the fill tube: This is the little tube that fills your ice tray. If it looks frozen, use a hair dryer to thaw it out.
4. Inspect the ice mold: look for ice in the mold to ensure the motor turning the ice injection is working properly.
5. Check the tap valve: Verify that the tap valve that connects the water supply tube to the water pipe is working correctly.
6. Test the solenoid: The solenoid is in the back lower section of your refrigerator and controls the water flow to the ice maker.
If your ice maker still isn’t working, you can try these steps.
Reset the ice maker: Some models can be reset by either unplugging the refrigerator for 60 seconds or by following a specific button sequence. Look in your manual or online for your model.
Clean and reinstall the ice maker: If the problem still exists, remove the ice bin, clean the ice maker thoroughly, and reinstall it.
If this doesn’t fix your ice maker, consider replacing the ice maker and valve.
